The barcode is a proven technology that improves the accuracy and speed of data collection. A barcode is simply a font readable by a scanner. Any combination of letters, numbers, and characters can be written in a barcode font, printed on an asset tag, and deployed throughout an enterprise for easy and accurate data collection. Some fonts, including 2 Dimensional barcodes, allow for a significant amount of data to be stored within the symbology. For example, some 2 dimensional barcode fonts can store up 1 MB of data.
